Join Us

We are looking for students who are self-motivated, creative, detail-oriented and who have an interest in promoting the health and wellbeing of Vermont’s children, farms and communities by connecting schools and farms through food and education.

Internships are available in the following areas:

Farm-to-School Network

• Gather information for a growing database about farms to support our effort to promote local food purchasing by schools.
• Work on special events and workshops designed to promote local food systems in Vermont.
• Conduct research on the efficacy of farm-to-school programs across the country.

School Garden Program

• Assist in providing nutrition and agriculture education to elementary school students in summer garden programs and camps.
• Plant, harvest and maintain school gardens
• Develop educational material on nutrition and sustainable agriculture for our programs.

GMFTS Marketing and Publicity

• Create informative content including blogs and more to reach a wider, technology-savvy audience with informative pieces on our programs and the advantages of local food.
• Assist in producing press and fundraising packets for various events, keeping information current and unified, as well as sending email, faxes and letters to various media outlets and GMFTS contacts.
